When I created my storyboard, I started with thinking from audience’s viewpoints, I believe my video is a two-way communication, which it’s the most effective way to influence my audience, also by understanding my audience can create a pleasant experience when they watch the video.

And it’s also very helpful when I edited the video. I did some A/B testing on two groups of audience, I wanted to know if they need any explanatory texts about all kinds of machines in the video. Based on my observations and interviews, I found out that adding those subtitles are unnecessary, which made my video’s message clear.

To my targeted audience, who are geeks and makers, they already knew all those machines, so they don’t need subtitles, most importantly, they told me that it can create a sense of pride when they recognize those equipments in the video.

To the general audience, those subtitles can be very distracting, what intrigues them most is the sense of excitement when they see all kinds of cool stuffs.
